European Week of Sport: Your Excuse to Train Above Florence

European Week of Sport: Your Excuse to Train Above Florence

From 23 to 30 September, the European Week of Sport invites people across Europe to get moving under the #BeActive banner. In Italy, September already feels like a second New Year for gyms: summer is over, routines restart, and most people who sign up this month are getting back into a habit they paused during the holidays.

If you’ve been meaning to start (or restart), this is the week. Here’s how to make it count.

1. Start with one session, not a perfect plan

The most common September mistake is going from zero to six workouts a week. Book one session, see how your body feels, and build from there. A Rooftop Day Pass (€15) is the lowest-commitment way to try us out, with showers and café access included.

2. Bring someone with you

Training with a friend is one of the simplest ways to stay consistent: it’s much harder to skip a workout when someone is waiting for you. Grab a classmate, your roommate or a travel buddy and make it a standing appointment.

3. Think in weeks, not days

A habit takes shape over several weeks. Aim for two or three sessions a week through October and you’ll have a solid foundation by the time the days get shorter. In Florence for a short stay? The Florence Week Pass (€45) gives you flexible access for seven days.

4. Mix strength, cardio and recovery

  • Strength: two full-body sessions a week built on the basics – squats, rows, presses and hinges.
  • Cardio: a brisk walk across the city counts, and so does interval walking on the treadmill (three minutes fast, three minutes easy).
  • Recovery: sleep, stretching and rest days are part of the programme, not a break from it.

5. Refuel with a view

After your workout, head up to our rooftop café for vegetarian fuel: a Power Bowl with quinoa, chickpeas and roasted vegetables, or a Protein Shake made with espresso, banana and almond milk.

See you on the rooftop

We’re open from 9am to 6pm. Whether it’s your first gym visit in months or your first week in Florence, the European Week of Sport is the perfect excuse to begin. Take a look at our passes and memberships and come train above the city.
